Overview
Soundful generates royalty-free instrumental music from a genre and a template, which it describes as a sub-genre, and lets you set the key and the BPM before it renders a track. Three creation modes cover the usual jobs: "Track" builds from a chosen genre and template, "Similar" reuses the template of a track you already like, and "Loop" returns a single loop instead of a finished piece. There are no vocals; lyrics and singing are left to the user. Downloads are MP3 and WAV, and higher plans add STEM packs that contain a MIDI file, a mix and master file and the separated stems. Licensing is tiered rather than uniform: the free plan carries a personal, non-commercial licence with one MP3 a month, the Plus and Pro plans a Music Creator licence for commercial releases, and the Business and Enterprise plans a Business licence covering film, TV, advertising, apps and games.
Best for brands, agencies and creators who need instrumental music with a clear commercial licence.
Soundful suits people who need a clean licence more than they need a striking song, so the natural home for it is a brand channel, an ad or a game where a rights question later would be expensive. Because the template decides most of the arrangement, the results are consistent rather than surprising, which is a virtue when a whole content series has to sound like one thing. The catch is that the licence tiers, not the audio, are what you are really choosing between: the free plan cannot be used commercially at all, and the reach thresholds move you up the ladder as an audience grows. Anyone who wants sung vocals will need a second tool.

FAQ
- Who owns a track generated with Soundful?
- Soundful keeps the master licence. Paid members hold a royalty-free licence to use the track, and full ownership is a separate purchase: copyright starts at $50 per track and includes the track licences and a STEM pack. Loops cannot be bought outright, they stay royalty-free under a non-exclusive licence.
- What is in a STEM pack?
- A zipped folder containing a MIDI file, a mix and master file, and the separated stems.
- Do unused downloads carry over to the next month?
- No. The download and STEM allowance resets every month on the anniversary of the signup or upgrade date.
- What happens to finished tracks if the subscription ends?
- Tracks stay in the Soundful library for as long as the account is active, whatever the plan. The rights do not all survive a cancellation: Soundful states that Content Creator members keep perpetual rights to what they made, while Music Creator Plus members have to de-monetise any monetised tracks when the subscription ends, unless the copyright for those tracks was bought separately.
