ACE Studio is a desktop AI music studio for Windows and macOS built around one job: turning MIDI notes and written lyrics into finished singing vocals. The library holds 160+ royalty-free AI voices across eight languages, Choir Mode stacks several of them on one part, and every paid plan includes cloning slots that train a voice from your own samples. Beside the vocals sit 40+ AI instruments that play a MIDI part as a performance rather than sample playback, including AI string sections, with Ensemble Mode layering several on a single track. The rest of the workspace covers the steps around a vocal: a stem splitter, a voice changer, an audio-to-MIDI converter that turns a sung recording back into notes and lyrics, Generative Kits that build an arrangement layer by layer from a text description, a Music Enhancer, sound-effect generation, and a Video Composer that fits music and effects to the cuts of a video. Work leaves as WAV, MIDI or stems, and the ACE Bridge plugin (VST3, AU and AAX, with ARA tempo sync) puts the same engine inside a DAW. The app also opens itself to outside agents: it runs a local MCP server over STDIO and ships an acestudio-cli, with setup guides for Claude on the desktop and in the terminal, the ChatGPT desktop app, Codex, VS Code with GitHub Copilot and Cursor. ACE Studio is aimed at someone who already works in a DAW and needs a vocal line, which is a different job from the prompt-to-song generators it sits beside here. That shows in how it is driven: you supply the melody and the words, and the tool supplies the voice, so what comes out stays recognisably your writing rather than a model's guess at a song. The trade-off is the work expected of you before anything sounds, and the fact that this is software to install rather than a browser tab.
