Stable Diffusion is Stability AI's family of open-weights text-to-image models, whose weights are published on Hugging Face and can be run on your own hardware or through hosted APIs. The current SD 3.5 release is a Multimodal Diffusion Transformer available in several sizes that run on consumer GPUs, with improved image quality, prompt understanding and typography over earlier versions. Because the weights are open, Stable Diffusion has the largest customization ecosystem of any image model, including LoRA fine-tunes and ControlNet, and it can be adapted or embedded without per-image fees.
