Overview

InvokeAI is a free and open-source creative engine for AI image generation that runs entirely on your own machine. Its centre is the Unified Canvas, a layer-based surface where generation sits alongside drawing, painting, inpainting and outpainting with brush tools, so an image is developed in place rather than re-rolled from a prompt each time. Behind the canvas is a node-based workflow system for building custom generation pipelines, plus ControlNet for guiding composition, batch generation and upscaling, and a gallery for storing and remixing earlier output. Model support runs to more than twenty-five architectures including Stable Diffusion 1.5 and 2.0, SDXL, the Flux series and CogView 4, with management for checkpoints, LoRAs, textual inversions and ControlNets.
