Overview
MindNode is a native mind mapping and outlining app for Apple devices, made by IdeasOnCanvas GmbH. It is for people who think in branching ideas and want to switch between a visual map and a structured outline. Maps stay in the user's own encrypted iCloud storage and sync across devices. Mind mapping is free, and a Plus subscription, monthly or yearly, unlocks the outline and the rest of the app.
Our take
Pick MindNode if you work alone on Apple hardware and want a map that behaves like any other app on it. If a team on Windows or in the browser has to edit the same map, MindMeister or Mindomo fit better instead, and anyone who needs flowcharts rather than tree structures should look at a diagramming canvas such as Lucidchart.
