Overview

Productboard is a product management platform built around customer feedback. Notes arrive from Zendesk, Intercom, Slack, Microsoft Teams, email and app store reviews, get linked to features and customer segments, and feed a prioritization model that ranks what to build next. Plans are laid out on timeline boards organized by objectives, initiatives and features, at week, month or quarter granularity, and shared with stakeholders through product portals. Delivery is handed off rather than run in place: prioritized features are pushed to Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Trello or Shortcut, and their status syncs back. Customer and usage data comes in from Salesforce, Amplitude and Mixpanel, designs embed from Figma, Miro and Mural, and a public API v2.0 plus a separate GDPR API cover what the integrations do not. A free plan carries 500 feedback notes, one teamspace and 25 contributors; paid plans are priced per maker rather than per seat.

Best for product teams that want customer feedback to decide what goes on the roadmap.

Productboard earns its keep when the hard part is deciding what to build rather than tracking who is building it, and a team drowning in requests from sales, support and app stores gets a defensible answer out of it. The corollary is that it is half a system by design: engineering work still lives in Jira or its equivalent, so this runs alongside a delivery tool instead of replacing one, and two tools mean two sets of seats to justify. The plan boundaries are worth reading closely, because makers and AI credits are what they actually meter, and the free plan's note ceiling arrives sooner than it sounds.
