Overview
ProjectManager is a hosted project and portfolio tool that keeps one plan visible as a Gantt chart, a task list, a sheet, a kanban board and a calendar, with unlimited tasks and subtasks, baselines, critical path and project version control underneath. The entry Team tier covers that planning layer for up to ten users and twenty projects and adds unlimited read-only guest licences, so people who only need to watch progress do not take a seat. Resource management, workload planning with working days and labour rates, time tracking with timesheets that fill themselves from logged hours, budgeting, portfolio dashboards, workflow automation and AI Project Insights all begin on the Business tier. Connectors cover QuickBooks Online, Jira and Azure DevOps with two-way sync, Power BI, Acumatica, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Excel and Trello, alongside a documented API; several of them are sold as a five dollar per user per month integration bundle unless the account is on Enterprise. Paid plans are per user per month with an annual discount, and the trial runs thirty days with no card and no user minimum.
Best for delivery teams that need one plan in several views and, a tier up, the resourcing and timesheets to report on it.
The shape of the paid tiers is the thing to weigh before anything else: everything that turns a plan into controlling, meaning hours, workloads, budgets and the portfolio view, arrives in one jump at the second tier, so there is no gentle middle to grow into and the real question is whether the cheaper tier is enough on its own. For a team that only needs to lay out work and show it to people, it is, and the free guest licences make that case unusually well. Anyone who needs to bill the hours or defend a budget should price the higher tier from the start and add the integration bundle to that sum, because the connectors most such teams reach for are not included. Its comfort zone is delivery work that has to be reported upwards, in construction, professional services and IT; a small studio that wants a shared board will find far more machinery here than the job calls for.
