Overview
ProtoPie is a prototyping platform for interaction designers whose prototypes have to behave like the real product, across several screens and on hardware such as automotive systems, TV remotes and connected appliances. Designs are brought in from other design tools and made interactive in the ProtoPie Studio desktop app for macOS and Windows, then shared through ProtoPie Cloud. It is made by Studio XID Korea and has a free plan, with paid plans billed per editor.
Our take
ProtoPie is the pick when the prototype itself is what gets tested: an in-car interface on a driving simulator, a TV app steered with a real remote, or a flow that spans phone and tablet at once. For screen-only apps where a clickable flow is enough, the prototyping inside a UI design tool from this category usually covers it without a second subscription, and teams that need form-heavy, logic-driven prototypes rather than motion and sensors should look at a specification-oriented prototyping tool instead.

Features
- What it makes
- High-fidelity interactive prototypes for mobile, web, TV, automotive, IoT and game interfaces, running across several devices at once
- Fidelity
- High fidelity: prototypes behave like the finished product, built on designs imported from Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD, with native device sensors, voice, camera and dynamic text input
- Interaction and logic
- Triggers and responses without code: touch, mouse, key, input, sensor triggers such as tilt, compass, sound and proximity, and voice commands, plus conditional triggers (chain, range, start, detect), conditions, variables and formulas
- Components and design systems
- Personal libraries on every plan, team libraries on Pro, and custom fonts on Enterprise
- Collaboration and review
- Cloud share links with view, view and download, or prototypes-only access and an optional password; team members are editors or viewers, and both can comment on prototype pages. Team-only access on Pro and Enterprise, expiring links on Enterprise
- Handoff and export
- Imports designs from Figma, Sketch and Adobe XD through plugins; shares prototypes as Cloud links; records any scenario into developer specs with durations, delays, easing and layer properties (one recording on Basic, unlimited on Pro)
- Platforms
- ProtoPie Studio for macOS and Windows; ProtoPie Player runs prototypes on iOS, iPadOS and Android phones and tablets, and shared links open in a desktop or mobile browser
- AI features
- ProtoPie AI generates interaction logic from plain language on an existing design and shows the behaviour on the canvas for manual refinement; it uses AI credits, included on the paid plans only
- API
- ProtoPie MCP (beta, Pro and Enterprise) connects Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and other AI tools to build prototypes; ProtoPie Connect links prototypes to APIs, web embeds, camera feeds, Unity, Unreal, Arduino and custom hardware

How we check reviews
Reviews are not published yet. The form on a tool's page works and reaches us, but nothing from it appears on this site, so no score here is based on a review. The rules below are the ones that will apply once reviews go live.
Every review is read by a person before it appears. We require a working email address and use it to come back to the author, so a review has a reachable sender rather than being anonymous. We publish positive and negative reviews alike, we pay nothing and offer nothing for a review, and we accept none that was bought or incentivised.
What we cannot do is verify a purchase. There is no shop here and no account, so whether the author really used the tool rests on what they tell us, plus the plausibility of what they write. We say so rather than implying a check that does not exist.
A vendor cannot have a review removed, cannot buy one, and cannot have one changed. Paid placement and a paid listing have no effect on which reviews appear or on any score.
