Overview
Riverside runs a remote interview in the browser but records each participant on their own machine, so what is captured does not follow the quality of the call. The result is a set of separate tracks and a transcript, and the editing happens on the transcript: cutting a sentence out of the text cuts it out of the footage. Magic Audio cleans the takes in one pass and Magic Clips pulls vertical versions for social. Hosting, live streaming and publishing to the major platforms sit in the same subscription.
Our take
Riverside earns its keep when the recording has to survive being published rather than only being watched live, which is the whole point of capturing each guest locally. It suits a small team shipping episodes on a schedule, because recording, cleanup, clipping, hosting and distribution sit in one subscription instead of four. Two things shape the choice. The tiers are separated by monthly hours of separate-track downloads, not by recording time or seats, so a heavy interview month can outgrow a tier that looked roomy. And the pieces a larger production assumes, uncapped track downloads, API access and SSO, exist only on the quoted Business tier, which leaves everything below it a creator tool with webinar features attached.
