Skybox AI from Blockade Labs generates 360 degree environments rather than objects: a prompt returns a full equirectangular panorama, a thumbnail and a depth map, and Model 3 can remix an existing skybox or an uploaded panorama. Panoramas are generated at 8K by default and leave as EXR, HDR, panoramic JPG or cubemaps, with HDRI lighting and 3D skybox meshes unlocked from the Standard plan. It is built to be driven from wherever the scene is being assembled, with engine plugins, a REST API and an MCP server.
Our take
The thing to be clear about before buying is that this fills the space around a scene rather than the scene itself, so it sits alongside a mesh generator instead of competing with one. Where it earns its place is the last mile: the depth map and the plugin list mean an environment reaches an engine as lighting and background rather than as a file someone still has to convert. The plan ladder is worth reading closely, because the two things a production pipeline usually wants, HDRI lighting and the skybox mesh, are not on the entry tier, and full API access is another step up again. That makes the cheapest paid plan a concept and mood tool, while pipeline work starts one tier higher.
