Overview
abas ERP is an enterprise resource planning system for midsize manufacturing companies, made by abas Software in Karlsruhe and today part of Forterro. The system spans over 25 functional areas, among them purchasing and sales, production planning, warehouse and materials management, and service, with integrated financial accounting. Project work runs on abas PM, which pulls purchasing, sales, production, logistics and accounting into graphical project and resource planning with budgets and critical path. Low-code tools adapt the system without changing the standard, and it runs on-premise or in the cloud.
Our take
abas is aimed squarely at the 50 to 500 employee manufacturer, and the narrowness is deliberate: the scheduling, production and project modules assume a company that builds to order, so a service business or a retailer would carry weight it does not need. The low-code layer is the practical argument for choosing it, because the usual trade in mid-market ERP is that heavy adaptation makes upgrades painful, and abas positions its changes to sit outside the standard functions; that is the claim to test against references rather than take at face value. Nothing is published about price, so budgeting starts with a partner conversation, and document management arrives through a connector to a third-party system rather than in the box.

How we check reviews
Reviews are not published yet. The form on a tool's page works and reaches us, but nothing from it appears on this site, so no score here is based on a review. The rules below are the ones that will apply once reviews go live.
Every review is read by a person before it appears. We require a working email address and use it to come back to the author, so a review has a reachable sender rather than being anonymous. We publish positive and negative reviews alike, we pay nothing and offer nothing for a review, and we accept none that was bought or incentivised.
What we cannot do is verify a purchase. There is no shop here and no account, so whether the author really used the tool rests on what they tell us, plus the plausibility of what they write. We say so rather than implying a check that does not exist.
A vendor cannot have a review removed, cannot buy one, and cannot have one changed. Paid placement and a paid listing have no effect on which reviews appear or on any score.
