Overview
bexio is cloud business software from Rapperswil, Switzerland, used by more than 100,000 Swiss SMEs, startups and self-employed people. It covers the chain from contact to close: quotes and orders, QR invoices, supplier receipts, and single-entry or double-entry bookkeeping on Swiss charts of accounts and VAT rates. Payroll is certified to Swissdec 5.3 and files with the authorities automatically, and a fiduciary can be granted free access to the live data. It is sold in four packages priced by the number of users, and hosted in Swiss data centres.
Our take
bexio is bought for the Swiss specifics rather than for the length of its feature list, and that is the fair way to judge it: the QR invoice, the Swissdec certification, the archive that satisfies GeBüV and the live access for the fiduciary are what a Swiss SME would otherwise assemble from several tools and a spreadsheet. The tiers are cut by how many people need a login, so the sizing question is the size of the team rather than the volume of the bookkeeping, and payroll moves from paid add-on to included as the tiers rise. Receipt scanning is metered on everything but the top package, which is what will push a business with a heavy receipt load upwards. Outside Switzerland very little of this carries over.

How we check reviews
Reviews are not published yet. The form on a tool's page works and reaches us, but nothing from it appears on this site, so no score here is based on a review. The rules below are the ones that will apply once reviews go live.
Every review is read by a person before it appears. We require a working email address and use it to come back to the author, so a review has a reachable sender rather than being anonymous. We publish positive and negative reviews alike, we pay nothing and offer nothing for a review, and we accept none that was bought or incentivised.
What we cannot do is verify a purchase. There is no shop here and no account, so whether the author really used the tool rests on what they tell us, plus the plausibility of what they write. We say so rather than implying a check that does not exist.
A vendor cannot have a review removed, cannot buy one, and cannot have one changed. Paid placement and a paid listing have no effect on which reviews appear or on any score.
