Overview
Fortnox is a Swedish cloud platform for small business administration, used by more than 500,000 Swedish companies and sold as sixty programs bundled into four packages. The core is Bokföring for the books, with connections to Swedish banks, AI interpretation of incoming supplier invoices, automatic posting proposals and a link to Skatteverket. Fakturering writes and sends invoices as e-invoices, by email or by post, and handles ROT and RUT deductions. Around those sit payroll, receipts, travel claims, time reporting, stock, fixed assets, group consolidation and the year-end close.
Our take
Fortnox reads as an ecosystem rather than a single product, and that is the right way to judge it. For a Swedish business the payoff is that the whole administration can sit beside the books instead of being stitched together from separate tools, and the accountant works in the same system. The bill follows how much of that administration moves in and how active the company is, not how many people log in, so the published rate is the start of a calculation rather than an answer. Outside Sweden almost none of the value survives, and a company elsewhere should pick a local accounting suite instead.
