Holded is cloud business management software from Spain, part of the Visma Group since 2021 and used by more than 900,000 freelancers and small businesses. At its core are invoicing and accounting: quotes and invoices from templates, a client portal and online payments, with Verifactu invoice verification for the Spanish Tax Agency in every plan. Banks connect for reconciliation, AI categorises transactions and an OCR scanner turns receipts into journal entries. Around that sit CRM and project features, plus add-ons called Gems for payroll, HR, inventory, manufacturing and POS.
Our take
Holded is a strong fit for a Spanish freelancer or small company that wants invoicing, the books and the tax filings in one place and would rather add modules than stitch tools together. The tax side is what anchors it: Verifactu, SII and the Basque rules are built in, so a business in Spain gets compliance without a separate product, while a business elsewhere gets little from that and should look at a local tool. The plan ladder is metered by invoices per year and connected banks rather than just seats, so a company that invoices at volume can outgrow a tier faster than its headcount suggests. Payroll, HR, inventory and POS are priced per module on top, which keeps the entry price low but means the real monthly cost depends on how many of them you switch on.
