Exact Online is the cloud business platform from the Dutch vendor Exact, sold as separate packages per business type, from accounting to distribution, manufacturing and project work. Underneath, the packages share one database, so financial, logistics, project and administrative processes run on the same records. It is aimed at small and mid-sized companies, runs in the browser and is priced per package and month.
Our take
Exact Online is worth a look when the shape of the business is settled enough to pick a package, because that choice is what determines both scope and price: the gap between the accounting entry point and a manufacturing licence is roughly seventeenfold, and the packages are listed separately rather than as tiers of one product. That is unusually transparent for an ERP of this size, where a quote on request is the norm, and it makes budgeting possible before a sales conversation. The trade-off is that growing into a second package is a commercial decision rather than a settings change, so it pays to map the processes to a package before signing rather than after.
