Overview

ProSonata is a German cloud application for agencies, consultancies, IT service providers and freelancers that runs the administrative side of project work in one place. Projects are organised in lists, kanban boards and Gantt charts, and each one carries a time budget whose status turns red once the recorded hours pass it. Hours are logged against projects, with optional attendance recording and time accounts. The commercial half issues quotes, order confirmations and every kind of invoice in the ZUGFeRD and XRechnung formats.

Our take

ProSonata is the cheapest credible way to get quoting, timekeeping and invoicing under one roof, and the package pricing is why: a five-person studio pays one flat fee where most competitors charge per seat, and the cost per head keeps falling as the team grows. What that buys is breadth rather than depth. The base package covers the everyday routine of a small agency competently, while several things heavier suites bundle as standard are booked on top for a small monthly surcharge, so the honest price is the package plus the modules actually needed. Product and support are German language throughout, which fits a team in the German-speaking market and rules it out elsewhere. Firms that want cost rates per employee, revenue forecasting or scenario planning will outgrow it; those whose measure is whether the month was billed correctly will find little missing.

How we check reviews

Reviews are not published yet. The form on a tool's page works and reaches us, but nothing from it appears on this site, so no score here is based on a review. The rules below are the ones that will apply once reviews go live.

Every review is read by a person before it appears. We require a working email address and use it to come back to the author, so a review has a reachable sender rather than being anonymous. We publish positive and negative reviews alike, we pay nothing and offer nothing for a review, and we accept none that was bought or incentivised.

What we cannot do is verify a purchase. There is no shop here and no account, so whether the author really used the tool rests on what they tell us, plus the plausibility of what they write. We say so rather than implying a check that does not exist.

A vendor cannot have a review removed, cannot buy one, and cannot have one changed. Paid placement and a paid listing have no effect on which reviews appear or on any score.

The overall score is the average of the six ratings above. Nothing is weighted, and a paid placement does not change a single one of them.
